MOSCOW, Mar 15 (PRIME) -- Russian ridesharing service BeepCar, which allows users to look for fellow travelers, has seen 2.072 million users over the first 30 days of its existence, and drivers and passengers have ridden over 22 million kilometers and arrived to 5,900 cities, the service’s owner, Internet giant Mail.Ru Group, said Wednesday in a press release.
“Drivers and passengers spent 15,000 days on the road and ran 22,635,000 kilometers: equal to 566 turns around the equator or 30 times to the Moon and back. On average, a passenger covered 249 kilometers per trip, and the lengthiest journeys for 1,200 kilometers were done on the routes from Moscow to Izhevsk and from Surgut to Chelyabinsk,” Mail.Ru Group said.

Some drivers offered to carry fellow travelers for free.
Male drivers prevailed with 92% against 8% of female drivers, and 76% of passengers were also men against 24% of women.
